Before you start
- Each customer needs an email address on their customer record.
- The Portal shows your logo and brand color from Settings, under Organization.
Invite a customer
- When you add a customer, leave Don’t send welcome email yet unticked. Garrison creates their Portal access and emails them.
- Held off at first? Edit the customer, untick Email not available yet, enter their email and save. That sends the welcome email.
- Make sure they’re the customer on the right project, so it shows up for them.
How customers sign in
- Customers use your business’s own Portal sign-in page. The link is in their welcome email.
- They enter their Email and select Send verification code.
- They type the code from the email and select Verify & Sign In. There’s no password to remember.
Customers can’t sign up by themselves. If one can’t get in, check the email on their customer record.
What customers can do
- Their Dashboard shows their projects, open estimates and any invoices with a balance.
- On a project they see Billing and Documents, the Photos you’ve shared, and permit and warranty details when there are any.
- They approve an estimate with Select This Option, sign documents with Sign, and pay with Pay Now.
Choose what they see
- Photos appear once you turn on Show in Client Portal for the project and Include in Client Portal for each area.
- Documents appear once you choose Add to Portal on them.
- See Organize photos and documents for the details.
Good to know
- Pay Now takes cards once Stripe is connected. The Portal also lists your other ways to pay, such as Zelle or check. Record those payments yourself when they arrive.
- A customer who signed in but can’t find a project is usually attached to a different customer record. Check the project’s customer first.
