Make calls and text customers

Call from Garrison through your own phone, text customers from the Messages inbox, and look back at your call history.

Before you start

  • Add your mobile number in Settings, under General and then Account. Garrison calls it first when you place a call.
  • Your company needs a number set to Inbound / Outbound for calls, and an approved number for texting.

Make a call

  1. Select the phone icon at the top of the screen (Dialer). Use the Keypad, or pick someone from Contacts or History.
  2. Start the call. Garrison rings your own phone first: answer it, and you’re connected to the person you called.

The dialer is on larger screens, such as a computer.

Text a customer

  1. Select the chat icon at the top of the screen (Messages). A badge shows unread messages.
  2. Open a conversation and reply, or start one with New Message.
  3. If your company has more than one number, choose which to use in Reply from.
  4. Use Templates for messages you send often, or Schedule send to send later.

Customers can reply STOP to stop texts. If none of your numbers can text yet, check its texting approval.

Look back at calls

  1. Open Call Center and go to Call Log for calls, recordings and transcripts.
  2. A customer’s Call History is also on their page in Contacts.

Good to know

  • Incoming calls ring whoever your call flow’s Ring someone step names, such as your office line or a manager’s cell.

Still stuck? Let’s work it out.

Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, and the page you were on. A project or invoice number helps us find the right context.
